Specialist garden…
Ard Daraich is home to over 1000 rhododendron species and hybrids (some rare and now lost in their country of origin), 100s of Acers (the Maclarens are members of the Maple Society) and Sorbus, many donated by Lord Ridley, owner of the national collection.
Rhododendrons were Norrie’s father’s first love, followed by Acers and Sorbus. Passionate about gardening since childhood, Norrie shares the same interest in trees and plants as his father and with worldwide contacts with plant collectors and botanical gardens, this extraordinary collection continues to grow.
